Buenos Aires, Argentina – Shanghai MicroPort Endovascular MedTech (Group) Co., Ltd. (“Endovastec™”) recently successfully completed the first case for its Minos™ Abdominal Aortic Stent-Graft and Delivery System (“Minos™ Stent Graft System”) in Argentina. It is the seventh international market outside of China where Minos™ Stent Graft System has entered after Greece, Poland, Spain, Germany, Italy and Switzerland, also the first country in South America.

The case was performed by a team led by Dr. Mauricio Bonet and Dr. Mariano Campenni from  Hospital of Sanatorio Junin. Ultra-low-profile design of Minos™ reduced the damage to access vessels, tip capture mechanism combined with excellent conformability of the stent ensured  accurate position and stable sealing effect. The post-operative angiography showed that the aneurysm was effectively excluded. Also, the stent graft conformed to the patient’s anatomy very well, with smooth blood flows in the limb stent. The operation was a success.

The Minos™ Stent Graft System features a three-piece design which enables flexible assembly to various anatomies. The M-bare stent is laser-cut with integrated barbs. The main body was constructed by multi-filament seamless woven graft, and its iliac limbs are woven by a single wire in a spiraling pattern. The unique design ensures a higher efficacy and safety even during the treatment of patients with complex anatomies and reduces the rate of complications including endoleak, device migration or limb stent occlusion, which further lowers the risk of re-intervention.

The completion of the first implantation of Minos™ Stent Graft System in Argentina marks that Minos™ Stent Graft System has formally entered South America. Endovastec™ is committed to promoting more high-quality and innovative medical devices to regions of South America, so as to benefit more local patients with aortic and peripheral vascular disease.
