Barcelona, Spain——July 15th, 2020. The Minos™ Abdominal Aortic Stent-Graft and Delivery System (“Minos™ Stent Graft System”), which is produced by Shanghai MicroPort Endovascular MedTech Co., Ltd. (“Endovastec™”), was successfully implanted in a patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) in Spain. Spain is the third overseas market of Minos™ Stent Graft System after Greece and Poland.
The patient's abdominal aortic aneurysm has a short neck and an inverted cone shape with calcified bilateral iliac arteries. Minos™ Stent Graft System has bare stent with hook on the proximal end to achieve stable sealing. The proximal dual mini spring design can conform to the anatomical morphology of the aneurysm neck. The outer sheath of the delivery system is only 14F (<5mm) in diameter, which significantly reduces the requirement of access artery. It is one of the best solution of this case.
The case was completed by two experienced doctors Nilo Mosquera and Jorge Fernandez Noya and it takes only 40 minutes. A main-body stent graft (CM28-100) and the limb stent grafts (CL16-100 and CL20-100) were selected during the procedure. The postoperative angiography showed that the aneurysm was effectively excluded without endoleak. The expanded stent graft was in good shape and smooth blood flow through limbs. The procedure turned out to be a success.
After the procedure, the two doctors commented that Minos™ Stent Graft System not only inherits the characteristics of traditional stents, but also achieves breakthroughs and optimizations in the ultra-low profile of the delivery system, the sealing and deployment design of the stent, and the weaving process of the graft. The main body and limb stents are released accurately and stably and without leakage during the procedure. In addition, only one suture device is used to sew the small cut of each entrance artery because of low profile outer sheath. The two doctors are very confident about trying more and more complicated cases with Minos™ Stent Graft System in the future.
The completion of the first implantation of MinosTM Stent Graft System in Spain means that Endovastec™ has once again broadened its layout in overseas markets. Endovastec™ will continue to uphold its original intention and strive to bring more high-quality and innovative high-end medical devices to overseas markets to benefit more patients with aortic and peripheral vascular diseases.
