"Chinese surgeons' surgical technique is amazing!" said Walter Chaui, an Argentina vascular surgery physician, after observing Professor Chang Shu using fenestration technique to preserve the left common carotid artery and the left subclavian artery. Professor Chang Shu shared his personal experience with the Latin American experts and they took turns to assist him in the surgeries. Walter Chaui said, it was exciting to be the assistant of Professor Chang Shu and he learnt a lot from such experience. Meanwhile, there were also lectures and Q&A sessions in which Professor Chang Shu actively interacted with the attendees regarding questions about the surgeries.

From August 24 to August 25, the Latin American experts went to Beijing for surgical observation. In Fuwai Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Professor Chang Shu and his team gave lectures themed on "aortic arch treatment and trend" and "hybrid repair of extensive aortic arch disease." With the promotion of the 'Belt and Road' initiative, we hope that more experts from countries involving in the 'Belt and Road' initiative and Latin American countries along the 'Maritime Silk Road' can come to China for academic exchange, and jointly push the development of aorta interventional therapy.'"
